Energy Star LogoThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy created Energy Star to help you save money and energy. Energy Star is a rating for energy-efficient products and practices, and it can help you wisely build or remodel your home, select energy-efficient appliances and more.

In 2006, according to the Energy Star website, people saved energy equivalent to taking 25 million cars off the road and saved $14 billion on their utility bills by using Energy Star products and services. Their website reports, “Energy-efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions.”

When it’s time to replace your refrigerator, washer or other appliance, make sure it has the Energy Star sticker. Be A Star For The Planet!
