learning to build green“The first month the Northeast Indiana Green Build Coalition (NEIGBC) met, we invited 20 people and 30 showed up. The following month, we invited 30 people ... and 40 showed up.”

Raising the awareness of area residents and businesses about green building and sustainable living is the purpose of the Northeast Indiana Green Build Coalition (NEIGBC). We do this by providing educational opportunities for construction professionals, business owners and the general public.

We also partner with other organizations to help facilitate:

  • Bringing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-accredited courses to northeast Indiana
  • Providing education about sustainable, green business practices
  • Creating educational programs on sustainable living and care of the environment
In working toward sustainability, we also foster and facilitate collaborative efforts in place of what might otherwise be competitive endeavors.

NEIGBC members are a diverse group of people who meet monthly to create educational opportunities for audiences with a varied knowledge base.

Who can use LEED?
Everyone: architects, real estate professionals, facility managers, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, construction managers, lenders, government officials ...www.usgbc.org
